Puzzle Quest! the best puzzle game on arcade?

Postby Doomey on Thu May 15, 2008 10:50 pm

Its a bold statement, declaring Puzzle Quest the best arcade puzzle game.

However I will go one further, Puzzle Quest is THE best Arcade title on live.

In Puzzle Quest the idea is simple. Match colour tokens. Easy enough.
Most of the time your against a cpu charchter, this is where things get interesting, as not only do you have to match coloured tokens, but you have to beat your opponent too.

Puzzle Quest has you matching colours to build up spells you have, the spells you ahve in your arsenal help you defeat your opponent, as you progress through the game, you learn better spells.

The game itself is a strange hybrid of puzzle stroke rpg. You encounter all sorts of monsters and enemies you would expect to find more at home in a final fantasy title, or any other title of a simialr style.

I think there lies why the game is so interesting, and addictive. It has so much depth, it sucks you in.

Intrestingly the title will soon have an add on pack too, so watch out for that.

As always dont take my word for it, check out the demo on market place, Im pretty sure if you like puzzle games you will not be disapointed.

Playability 10/10
Lastability 7/10 (not much incentive to go back once you beat the game)
Online 7/10 (online dying a bit, but hopefully this will pick up once DLC is out)
Sound 8/10 (good sound for an arcade title)
Graphics 7/10 (some arcade titles look nicer, but you cant expect much from a puzzle game realy)

Overall 8/10
A good fun game that will hook you in, but refuse to spit you out.
