Zelda Twillight Princess = crap.

Postby Ed00wii on Fri May 30, 2008 9:25 pm

I want an honest opinion here. Over at wiitalk I'd get slated for saying this. I enjoyed Ocarina of time and HATED Wind Waker. I guess Twillight Princess was somewhere in between. For about the first 3 hours, the game was ok - but I never got into it.

I know a few Nintendo fans who feel the same, however it's few and far between. I just hate the over produced hype and false 'liking' people give towards an out dated series.

Anyway - any 'neutrals' out there who agree, or am I unique!?

I somewhat agree. It was a disapointment as far as the hype went but I still enjoyed it. Id put it at number 3 of my all time favorite Zelda games 1 being Ocarina of course and 3 being the one for SNES where you get sent into another dimension half way through the game. Forget the name of it. I also got Twilight for the GC because I dont have a Wii

Shh, Hilly don't let Wiitalk hear ;)

Indeed, it's kinda the same with MK wii...the novelty wears off very quickly. For me most sequel games are rubbish though - it's the gaming era we're currently going through...until a REAL revolutionary console, most sequels will be to alike - atleast for me.

Note: I enjoy most sequels (except TP). Here is a quick list of 'samey' sequels.

Mario64-->Mario Galaxy
GTA3-->GTA4
MarioKart64-->MarioKart wii
Pokemon blue/red-->Pokemon pearl/diomond
Halo-->Halo3

Etc...etc, however MOST sequels are still successful and enjoyable.

I think the problem with games that have been revolutionary before is...
we expect too much.

No seriously, all the games you mention have been great releases, and certainly had the wow factor, and indeed massivly revolutionary.

Any attempt to remake the games, would result in a disapointment.

IGN recently gave GTA4 10 out of 10. I think that is a hedious over scoring, and the reviewers certainly can not have played the game all the way through.

On initial impressions, I too would score it ten out of ten, but after a few weeks of playing it, Its more like a 7.5.

i think another problem is when i was younger maybe its not the same for all of you but i enjoyed the games more because they were fresher maybe, for most newer games theres an older game thats similar or alike i think just with worse graphics and a few minuses but maybe thats just me i dunno.
