So... If you have logged onto xbox.com you will have heard all about Project Natal with Steven Speilberg, to give the 360 controller-less gaming. Sounds interesting...

http://www.xbox.com/en-GB/news-features ... -Games.htm

But more interestingly, is the news on games...

Left 4 Dead 2 anyone? (Doomey is already dribbling on his keyboard).

Halo: Reach (not to confuse with ODST due in Nov).

However, I was slightly disappointed with these developments, as to be honest, we knew about most of these developments.

Oh yeah, and facebook and twitter are going to be on xboxlive as well, if you didn't already check it enough. As well as Zune, last.fm and Sky (UK only).

What are your thoughts on this?

To tell you the truth, I am more interested in the games than anything else?

FaceBook is gonna be good. Project Natal looks pretty damn cool, until my parents question my sanity from talking to my Xbox. The only game I'm looking forward to is Call of Duty 6: MW2 and any Tom Clancy games.

I think natal looks good, but the games looked a little arcadey low quality. (would work well for future Hawk games though, Tony, Not Clancy)

Alan Wake getting closer, now just waiting for my lionface feed.

l4D 2 is a non surprise really, and what are they doing different? Why not 6 survivors? or even 5.. it doesn't seem "different" yet, I like games that are different.

All I know is that if L4D2 doesn't release with at least six maps I'm not buying. L4D was a great game but four maps = Little replayability.

Fair point about it being released with more maps. Has L4D been updated with some more maps yet?

Alan Wake getting closer? 2010?!?

I agree about enjoying 'different' games. Like Dead Space, Bioshock. However, at the end of the day the games producers are there to make money, so making sequels is pretty much a given if the first game was successful.

Natal will be interesting to see how it develops. It will have more of an arcadey feel to it, until the technology really catches up with the idea. It will be like a wii, with sports games etc. It will be a number of years until you can play an FPS without a controller.

MW2, Alan Wake, Halo: Reach and obviously ME2 are my pick of the bunch to look out for. Also any news on Bioshock 2 will be warmly received.

to be honest I hope natal does not get too realistic, fps games with motion control will only make the escapism worse, if your in the game physhicaly, Im not entirely sure that's the greatest idea really.

I know what you mean. But as I said it will be years until anything like this comes to fruition. Games like Gears and Halo would be hard pushed to play without a controller. Running around a la COD might do some couch potatoes some good lol.

Isn't all gaming escapism? Surely a step towards virtual reality gaming is the next logical step as far as entertainment and immersion in the game goes. But I agree, some impressionably people, this step may be a step too far.

I think I just broke a record for the number of cliche's in a paragraph. *pats self on back*
