I must admit I am starting to despair with Arcade as of late, the quality of the games has been absolutely rubbish!

I am a fan of the re-release of older titles, like the recent soul calibur port, but games like dodge ball, rocket ball, and others are just poor!

I must admit I am very much looking forward to the new wave of Arcade titles like 1 vs 100, which I think is showing huge promise, however I do wonder about the prize element of it (rumoured feature that winners of the game/ show win prizes) I would not be a fan of gambling on x box live with real money (on some on-line sites you can play games like bejewelled for real cash prizes...see king.com, you have to pay to play though) hopefully this is only an ebb, and the quality will improve, but I remember reading that developers found the arcade dev kits frustrating, and they where not earning enough money back.

What are your thoughts?

Like you I also like re releases better then the unique ones. Im hoping they still plan on bringing back Banjo Kazooie. That would be cool. But overall I havent been a big arcade gamer.

yes, you get it for free if you pre order the new title.

BK is hitting dash very soon, I didn't like the look of it to be honest, the game has aged badly, I kind of don't realise how good graphics have become.

Yea, I still sit there and think how great games back in the day looked until I replayed it lol. BUTTTT... there is one exception. I recently replayed Shenmue on the Dreamcast and I have to say the graphics on that still to this day stand up to the new gen.

Shenmue so needs to come to 360.. hopefully they will make the third game for full retail (also)

Shen is one of those games that was so awesome, and so ahead of its time, yet because it was carried by Sega did not really get the recognition it should have had. (or sold the numbers it should have deserved)

I have still yet to play the sequal. Does it even stand up to the original? I didnt own an original Xbox so never really had a chance

The sequel I had was in Japanese/ Chinese (sorry Im such a noob I don't know which language it is)

The game was essentially the same, but on another island, you retained all the powers you learnt, and also some of the ones you may have not learnt, so the joy of learning new moves is removed.

In my opinion, shenmue 2 was not as good as 1, a lot of the magic of 1 had gone, for example without spoiling it, the love interest in this game is more tom boy, where as in the last game it was obvious flower girl had the hots for our hero, however he was totally oblivious to it as she wiggled and giggled he would just say something like "I must go now and practice"

It will be interesting to see what Grayski, who loves this franchise more than I has to say about this.. now lets wake him up.

I'm still pissed Perfect Dark won't come to XBLA. Age of booty looks good, and so does Banjo-Kazooie. I find that 1/10 of the arcade games out there are worth the money. I think that they should drop the prices of the crap games, that way people will buy them for 1-2$ just to boost their GS by 200 points

thats a fair point I know I have been tempted by the evils of easy gs.

I have yet to buy a game for easy gs. The only game I 100% the gs was the Ultra mini golf game. I got it because I like mingolf though, didnt even know the achievements when I got it. What makes me mad is games that you only have 1 or 2 achievements left and they are really hard (SVR 08)

agreed the arcade isnt as impressive anymore
